London student accommodation, both private and communal apartments, needs massive hot water tanks to supply these large buildings. It is critical to have Legionella management procedures in place since these are locations where bacteria may infiltrate water sources and be contracted.
Challenges
- Legionella bacteria can thrive in hot water tanks, decorative fountains, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning)
- Since “hard water” makes up the majority of the UK’s water supply. Legionella exposure is made more likely as a result of limescale, which can feed bacteria.
How did we help?
- We installed water conditioners to help reduce the formation of limescale encrustation, thereby ensuring continued maximum thermal efficiency and long major equipment life. Complies with Part L Building Services Compliance Guide.
